Freezeout tournaments are something of a rarity in the online poker world as players and sites tend to favour a re-entry format. That’s what made this event unique: when you were gone, you were gone!

Matthias “iambest2” Eibinger is no stranger to high roller events having been crowned a €50,000 High Roller champion at the 2018 EPT Prague and 2019 EPT money Carlo festivals. This tournament commanded a buy-in the 10th of the size, but SCOOP tournaments are just as prestigious.

Eibinger entered the even-handed final table fifth in chips but never panicked, just as a true professional wouldn’t.

Everyone received a payjump when “Specpro_tect” fell in seventh-place when their pocket tens ran into the aces of “shuhpat”. Shuhpat didn’t put those chips to good use because they were the next player out of the door.

Brazilian sensation Bruno “great dant” Volkmann fell in fifth for a shade under $40,000. Volkmann got his chips in preflop with pocket eights and couldn’t get there against the tens n the hand of “Geokarak.”

“FouenculePL” lost a big pot before Volkmann busted and was trying to rebuild but busted when their three-bet shove with ace-ten lost a flip to Geokarak’s red pocket sevens.

Three-handed play lasted quite a while and ended with Geokarak crashing out in cruel circumstances. The Greek grinder called off his stack with a set of tens only to see Eibiner reveal a flopped straight.

Eibinger started his heads-up clash against Simon “Igorkarkarof” Ronnow Pedersen with a two-to-one chip lead but the Dane clawed his way back into contention. Eibinger regained control before sending Pedersen home in second place to secure the title and the $114,704 top prize for himself.

Jean-Francois Talbot Leads SCOOP 110-H: $5,200 Pot Limit Omaha

The $5,200 buy-in Pot-Limit Omaha event is down to its final 14 players from a starting field of 110. Canada’s Jean-Francois “bmwmcoupe” Talbot is the man to catch going into the second and final day. Although Talbot holds the chip lead, it’s a narrow one and there are some exceptional players in the chasing pack.

Rui “RuiNF” Ferreira is on the hunt for his sixth SCOOP title. He returns to action in second-place, narrowly ahead of Finland’s “XD89lol<3”. Netherlands’ Noah “Exclusive” Boeken is the only other player with a seven-figure stack.

Others to look out for in the PokerNews live updates include Linus “LlinusLLove” Loeliger and former SCOOP Main Event champion Talal “raidalot” Shakerchi.
