Action of the Day

Day 2 began with just 27 hopefuls in the hunt. Runner-up "xMFPx" began the day with the chip lead while Segebrecht was also near the top of the packing kicking off the action in eighth place.

Andrey "kot_spartac" Kotelnikov (12th - $14,807), Benjamin "BC1989RF" Chalot (15th - $11,816), Andy "BowieEffect" Wilson (17th - $9,430), Marius "DEX888" Gierse (23rd - $9,430), and Ben "jenbizzle" Jones (24th - $7,525) were all among the players to advance to Day 2 but come short of the final table.

The final table began after Segebrecht ousted Francisco "Tomatee" Benitez in 10th place for $14,807 when his ace-queen suited won a flip against pocket sevens.

Final Table Action

Just like they were at the start of the day, "xMFPx" was in the lead to kick off the final table with Segebrecht near the top of the pack in third place.

Sergei "Futti18" Koliakov was the first player elimianted at the final table in a hand against "Kohrabi7" where both players had ace-jack on a jack high board. Koliakov's opponent's ace-jack was suited, however, and they improved to a flush to send Koliakov out in ninth place for $18,555.

The lead bounced around between a few players before "xMFPx" got it back when their queens held against the nines held by Ivan "ILS007" Stokes to send Stokes out in eighth place for $23,251.

Jon "apestyles" Van Fleet was the next victim in seventh place for $31,414. He got it in good with big slick but didn't hold against Segebrecht's ace-three suited.

"xMFPx" took the lead back in no small part in eliminating "Eleres88" (fifth - $57,347) Enrico "WhaTisL0v3" Camosci (sixth - $42,444) in back-to-back hands before Segebrecht climbed back once again to be the table captain.

Segebrecht then eliminated Camosci (fourth - $77,482) when his cowboys were good against king-queen suited and the action was heads-up two hands later after "Kohlrabi7" (third - $104,687) with fours lost a flip against "xMFPx" with king-jack.

Segebrecht began heads-up play with a 1.5:1 chip advantage again "xMFPx". Shortly into play, "xMFPx" asked if Segebrecht would be open to a deal, suggesting he was willing to toss in a few extra bucks.

Segebrecht politely declined and said he wanted to play for a little while. Shortly after, the lead went over to "xMFPx" before it went back to Segebrecht.

At this point, Segebrecht was open to a deal and the two players agreed to flatten out the scheduled $191,108 top prize and the $141,445 runner-up prize to soften the blow for whomever didn't come out on top.

Segebrecht then went on a run shortly later and built up a considerable chip lead. Segebrecht flopped a straight with seven-three and got his opponent to commit his stack with seven-six for top pair and a straight draw. The straight held and "xMFPx" was ousted in second place for $156,201.

Meanwhile, a huge congrats are in order for Claas "SsicK_OnE" Segebrecht for winning his SCOOP title on Monday evening.
