A Look at All the 2022 WSOP Online Michigan Bracelet Winners

While most eyes are focused on the 2022 World Series of Poker (WSOP) in Las Vegas, several gold bracelets have already been awarded on the virtual felt. All told there will be 29 online bracelet events being awarded this summer between players in New Jersey/Nevada (13 bracelets), Michigan (eight bracelets), and Pennsylvania (eight bracelets).

A slew of bracelets have already been awarded to players in New Jersey/Nevada and were live reported by PokerNews:

However, the other bracelets have been awarded in segregated markets in Michigan and Pennsylvania. Here’s a look at those winners from the "Wolverine State."

Brett “Gotcha1121” Blackwood Wins First-Ever Michigan Gold Bracelet

On Sunday, June 5, the first-ever gold bracelet event was held in the Wolverine State. Event #1: NLH BIG $500 attracted 242 players who rebought 68 times. The 310-entry field resulted in a $139,500 prize pool that was paid out to the top 36 finishers.

Some players to walk away with a cash were Brent “HappyMrsChkn” Burrows (4th - $10,588), Dominic “y0umadbr0” Choma (10th - $1,939), Craig “Nighthawk74” Gubert (18th - $1,311.30), Adam “Lamp_” Lamphere (22nd - $1,116), and Millard “Meekmills” Hale (31st - $976.50).

After ten and a half hours of play, it was Brett “Gotcha1121” Blackwood besting Andrew “WorldBFree21” Rosen in heads-up play to win WSOP gold and a top prize of $35,558.55.

Back in 2016, Blackwood broke onto the poker scene by topping an 884-entry field to win the Mid-States Poker Tour (MSPT) Michigan State Poker Championship at FireKeepers Casino for $188,314. Now he’s one of the few players to have both an MSPT title and WSOP gold bracelet.

Estes Denies Paggeot Bracelet in Michigan Event #2

A week later on June 2, the second gold bracelet event was held in Michigan. The $400 buy-in Event #2: NLH Ultra Deepstack attracted 275 players who rebought 56 times, which meant the 326-entry field generated a $119,160 prize pool that was reserved for the top 63 finishers.

Among those to cash were Matthew “loof21” Ploof (7th - $3,050.49), Mark “JuanTutiz” Maletic (17th - $905.61), Andrew “OhHiCindy” Korby (26th - $762.62), Jason “JasonKapoor” Kapoor (36th - $655.38), and Adam “AKittle” Kittle (48th - $512.38).

The title came down to Todd “Rooster_777” Estes, who earlier that day had signed up for WSOP.com for the first time, and established poker pro Corey “C0rgasm” Paggeot, who last year won the Michigan End Boss Poker Series Main Event on BetMGM for $23K.

Paggeot, who is also a PokerStars US COOP winner in Michigan, nearly had another major online title but came up one spot as Estes pulled out the victory for the bracelet and $27,895.64 first-place prize.

What’s more, later that day longtime WSOP commentator Norman Chad showed up at his door to award him with the actual bracelet.

John “HairyAce” MacLeod Claims Michigan’s 3rd Bracelet of the Summer

On June 19, the $500 buy-in Event #3: Pot-Limit Omaha 6-Max [3x Re-entry] saw 141 players rebuy 47 times. That resulted in an $84,600 prize pool that was paid out among the top 30 finishers.

Among those to cash but fall short of the final table were Jesse “JPeace” Peace (10th - $1,785.06), Andrew “OhHiCindy” Korby (18th - $1,082.88), Jack “wjt42” Wahrman (25th - $719.10), and Gregory “Kgbeats” Josifovski (30th - $719.10).

After more than seven hours of play, it was John “HairyAce” MacLeod coming out on top to claim the bracelet and a $21,386.88 top prize.

On June 26, the $600 buy-in Event #4: Online DeepStack Championship attracted 176 players who rebought 45 times, which resulted in a $119,340 prize pool. That was reserved for the top 36 finishers including Casey “Qu1ncyMcCall” Carroll (10th - $1,658.82), Scott “BoomTomb” Hammett (14th - $1,348.54), Craig “Nighthawk74” Gubert (21st - $954.72), and Joe “Jdeener” Midena (29th - $835.38).

After more than nine hours of play, it was Adam “Akittle” Kittle beating out Marcus “Skeechman” Norman to win the bracelet and $30,419.93 first-place prize.

On July 3, the $500 buy-in Event #5: No-Limit Hold’em Deepstack had 180 players rebuy 47 times, which meant the 227-entry field resulted in a $102,150 prize pool reserved for the top 36 finishers.

Some familiar faces to cash were Steven “sportfreak26” Wilson (10th - $1,419.88), Cathy “Chattycathy2” Brown (11th - $1,419.88), Anthony “RunItKing” Sabatella (17th - $960.21), Mark “MYLast50” Prentice (25th - $817.20), and Jamal “bettingjams” Fellah (32nd - $715.05).

After just over nine hours of play, it was Freddie “zengardener” Kirkland emerging victorious to claim the bracelet and $26,038.10 top prize.

Cade “ethmonsta” Lautenbacher Victorious in MI Online Bracelet Championship

On July 10, the $1,000 buy-in Event #6: NLH Online Bracelet Championship had 108 players rebuy 22 times, which meant a $117,000 prize pool was up for grabs to the top 18 finishers.

Among those to cash but fall short of making the final table were Timothy “Michalum32” Martin (10th - $$2,340), Peter “petey_boy” Hotaling (13th - $2,269.80), Kelly “NityByNature” Wolfe (17th - $2,223), and Zinoviy “NaglaMorda” Pelekh (18th - $2,223).

After seven and a half hours of play, it was Cade “ethmonsta” Lautenbacher defeating Robert “RTG_4” Gincott in heads-up play to win the tournament for $28,828.80 and his first gold bracelet.

On July 16, Event #7: $777 NLH Lucky 7's [3x Re-entry] attracted 98 players who rebought 25 times. The 123-entry field resulted in a $103,050 prize pool that was paid out to the top 36 finishers including Matthew "MGDOGG" Garza (4th - $6,534.99), who would win a bracelet the following day, as well as Brent "HappyMrsChkn" Burrows (5th - $4,675.23), Ben "FatGrady" Allen (14th - $972.93), and Amber "Amb3rSlayz" Rivera (18th - $809.34).

In the end, Ryan "MagicJohnson" Hiller bested Joseph "Servonious" Cervo in heads-up play to win the bracelet and $21,946.89 top prize.

Matthew "MGDOGG" Garza Nabs Final MI Bracelet

On July 17, the Michigan bracelet events came to a close with Event #8: $500 No-Limit Hold'em Summer Saver [3x Re-entry], a tournament that saw 179 players rebuy 50 times. The 229-entry field resulted in a $103,050 prize pool that was paid out to the top 30 finishers including Casey "Qu1ncyMcCall" Carroll (10th - $1,339.65), Matthew "ploof21" Ploof (17th - $1,082.02), Adam "Lamp_" Lamphere (21st - $978.97), and Marlyn "bigmj710" French (30th - $937.75.

Ultimately it was Matthew "MGDOGG" Garza taking down the tournament for the gold bracelet and $27,823.58 first-place prize.
